My primary job (and my heart) are in my work at Guttman Community College, where I am a Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies and a founding faculty member. I left the Department of Education in 2011 to build this brand-new community college where students were seen as assets, student-centered learning was a priority, and clear pathways to graduation were paramount. Building a new college in the largest public urban university system in the country (The City University of New York) is not for the faint of heart. The work has been challenging, but the rewards have been many and I am especially grateful for the incredible students and faculty/staff I have the privilege to work with and learn from every day.
Please see the pull-down menu for information on my academic work such as academic publications, conference presentations, and grants/ fellowships awarded.
